Jonathan Snowiss

Jonathan Snowiss is an experienced qi gong, tai chi, and kung fu master. He has trained in nei gong for 30 years under several knowledgeable and capable masters. Jonathan is an 11th generation master of the Southern Wei Tuo School. His main training was under Grandmaster Si Tu, Jie of Shanghai. the 10th Heir to this lineage. Under GM Si Tu, Jonathan not only learned the movements of qi gong, tai chi, kung fu and the stillness of meditation, but also the basics of TCM, an in depth understanding of qi and its philosophy as well as spirituality.

After college, he lived in Shanghai to further his studies with GM Si Tu, but also Xing Yi Quan under GM Wang Sen Lin. And more recently, he had the privilege to meet and study internal arts under Master Marvin Quan.

Jonathan graduated from Pitzer College in 2001 with a BA in Qi Gong: Mind/Body Healing, an independent major. He also had a studio in Montclair CA for 9 years called the Wei Tuo Academy. He shut it down to spend more time with family and personal training.

In his search, he discovered why so many students did not take practice as serious as they could. The majority of students found the practice interesting and fun, but it did not change their lives as nei gong could for health: it is an everyday practice that needs time and continuous practice to have its wonderful impact. So, he decided that Health Coaching is needed to keep students motivated and healthy. He studied online with Functional Medicine Coaching Academy. He is an accomplished writer with “Climbing the Mountain: The Essence of Qi Gong and Martial Arts”. You can find the link to the Amazon page. He has also authored many articles for Martial Journal. You can find his writings on the link here: https://www.martialjournal.com/author/jonathansnowiss/
